Reading and Writing

Course Introduction

  • Based on CA State Standards with differentiated instruction based on student needs 

  • Each session covers specific phonics, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills

  • By attending a total of 30 sessions, students will master all skillsets required by CA State Standards 

  • Reading and writing skills will be taught with direct and explicit instruction to enhance the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills 

  • All readings are selected by teaching experts to target on specific reading strategies, reading fluency, and reading comprehesion skills 

  • Ample opportunities for students to discuss and write in response to texts to foster deeper understanding of the reading content 

 

Class Structure

  • Classes assigned to teachers with the most grade level experience and subject-specific knowledge

  • Each class has no more than 4 students 

  • Classes delivered through interactive Zoom meetings

  • Homework provided for each session

  • For G1 and above, feedback will be provided on all assignments
